Student visa for Belarus

Do you intend to study in Belarus for a while to gain valuable foreign experience? For your entry into Belarus and your studies on site, you will need a student visa, also called a study visa. The study landscape in Belarus is multicultural. You will have the opportunity not only to get to know Belarus, its culture and inhabitants, but also to meet numerous international fellow students at the universities.

A visa for study purposes is only issued by the Belarusian foreign representations if you are in possession of an official invitation from the host country. The invitation letter, also called Visa Support Letter, is provided by the educational institution that has invited you to the admission interview or has already admitted you for a semester abroad. The period specified in the letter must be approved by the competent local migration authority. Please contact the contact person at the university in Belarus. As with all Belarus visas, personal documents such as passport, passport photo, application form, and proof of insurance must be submitted to the embassy or consulate.

The visa for students is a short-term travel authorization, available in the following versions:

• up to 30 days for single, double, or multiple entries
• up to 90 days for single, double, or multiple entries
• 90 days per year multi-visa (multiple entries)

The maximum stay in Belarus is three months. In principle, the duration of validity depends on the Visa Support Letter from the university. Whether the visa can be extended locally or a longer-term variant is available must be clarified on a case-by-case basis.
