Business Visa for Belarus

The Business Visa, translated into German as Geschäftsvisum, is required for all individuals traveling to Belarus for business reasons. Additionally, athletes, musicians, and artists participating in sports or cultural events in Belarus also have the option for a business visa. The visa application must be submitted before departure at the consular section of the Belarusian embassy or consulate general.

Belarus distinguishes three durations of business visas and three types of entry:

1. up to 30 days of stay with single, double or multiple entries
2. up to 90 days of stay with single, double or multiple entries
3. 90 days per year with multiple entries

For the first two variants, the duration of the visa is continuous, i.e., the visa specifies a continuous validity period. The one-year visa allows entering Belarus multiple times at longer intervals. In all cases, the maximum duration of stay, specified in days, must be observed. If it is foreseeable and necessary during the visit to Belarus to exceed the maximum stay of 90 days for business reasons, the visa holder should apply for a residence permit at a local registration office about 20 days before the expiration of his travel permission.

If you are applying for a business visa with a validity of up to 90 days for Belarus, you need an invitation from the host country. For example, if you plan to conduct business negotiations on site, your Belarusian business partner is your contact to issue the document. Note: The period for visa-free stay of foreign citizens in Belarus is increased from 5 days to 30 days. Condition: Entry must be via the airport in Minsk.

Note for business visas with a validity of more than 30 days: For EU citizens, an invitation is no longer mandatory but can still be requested separately by the consul. When filling out the visa application (items 20-22), the name, address, and telephone number of the inviting organization must still be provided. A fixed address for the stay in Belarus must also be specified. It is generally the case that consular officers are authorized to request additional supplementary documents that are relevant for the decision to issue the business/commercial visa.
