Medical insurance for foreigners in Belarus

The Embassy of the Republic of Belarus points out the updated position on mandatory medical insurance. Since July 1, 2014, the following documents are additionally required for issuing a visa:

• medical insurance policy of Belarusian companies BELGOSSTRACH or BELEKSIMGARANT
  
  or
  
  
• policy, insurance card or another document confirming the presence of foreign medical insurance in an insurance company.

A document confirming the presence of mandatory medical insurance must be presented when applying for a visa in original or copy. The document must contain the following information:

• Name and address of the foreign insurance company, company phone numbers or their overseas contact phones, first name, last name, patronymic (if applicable) of the insured
• Confirmation that the insurance coverage is valid in the territory of the Republic of Belarus
• Confirmation that the insurance covers the entire period of the foreign citizen's stay in the Republic of Belarus
• Confirmation that the insurance amount is at least 10,000 euros.
