Entry without a visa
Germans, Austrians, Swiss, and citizens of countries approved for the Visa Waiver Program have the opportunity to visit the States without a visa. However, they require an electronic entry permit, commonly known as ESTA.
To travel visa-free to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program, you need a machine-readable (burgundy) passport. Only the electronic passport (ePass) with a biometric photo and fingerprint meets the entry requirements of the US immigration authorities.
Do you still have questions about ESTA for the USA? In our ESTA FAQ, you will find answers to the most common questions from our customers. Learn more about the background of ESTA.
