The invitation letter serves as proof of the purpose of the trip and therefore varies depending on the visa category applied for. Inviters include, for example, a Belarusian university (student visa), a company (business visa), a tour company (tourist visa), or a private individual (private visa). Common terms are therefore private invitation, business invitation, tourist invitation, student invitation, etc. In some cases, an official certification of the invitation letter is required. The Visa Support Letter is written in Russian and includes, among other things, information about the applicant as well as information about the planned travel period. The formalities are clearly regulated by the embassy or the immigration authority of Belarus.

For tourist stays, an invitation from a Belarusian travel agency / tour operator, the visa support of a health resort in Belarus, or a hotel voucher are permissible. It should be noted that simple booking confirmations, as issued by internet booking portals, are not sufficient. The consulates demand that the proof comes directly from the hotel and includes a reference number.

Belarus Visa without Invitation – for Transit and Short Private Trips

• There are special regulations for EU citizens who apply for a private visa for a stay of up to 30 days at a Belarusian foreign representation in Germany. They do not need an official invitation, but are only required to provide the name and address of the hosting private individual.
• In the case of a transit visa, instead of an invitation letter, proof of the planned onward journey must be provided, namely the main visa for the destination country or confirmed tickets.
