Russia has expanded the list of entry points for electronic visas

Russian authorities continue to gradually develop the system of a unified electronic visa, aimed at simplifying the entry of foreign citizens. In January 2026, the list of available entry points included a new object - Kyzyl Airport. Thus, the total number of border crossing points via e-Visa increased to 107.

The electronic visa has been in effect since the summer of 2023 and is intended for citizens of 64 countries. It allows a single entry into Russia for tourist, business, humanitarian or private purposes. The visa is issued remotely through the official portal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia and does not require invitations, proof of accommodation or other additional documents.

According to the government decree signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on January 21, 2026, Kyzyl Airport received the status of an official entry point by electronic visa. It became the 107th object included in the corresponding federal list.

Kyzyl is the administrative center of the Republic of Tyva, located in the southern part of Siberia, near the border with Mongolia. The region is known for its distinctive culture, nomadic traditions, and unique nature. The city is also positioned as one of the symbolic geographical centers of Asia.

As of today, the electronic visa allows entry into Russia through 107 checkpoints of various categories - air, sea, rail, road, mixed, and river. The e-Visa mechanism is implemented as part of the state program 'Foreign Policy Activity' and is considered as a tool to stimulate tourism and investment attractiveness of the regions.
