Starting from June 30, 2025, Russia introduces mandatory electronic registration for foreign citizens arriving from visa-free countries. This procedure is carried out through the 'Russian Government Services RuID' system and applies to all tourists entering the country without a visa. Features of registration via RuID
If you are planning a trip to Russia, from June 30, 2025, you must undergo a preliminary digital registration:
- Foreign citizens from visa-free countries: Armenia, Georgia, Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and others.
- Children from 6 to 18 years old — registration is carried out by parents or guardians.
- Registration must be done no later than 72 hours before entry.
- If there is a valid reason (for example, illness or death of a relative) registration is allowed at least 4 hours before entry.
- The received application is valid for 90 days

How is registration through "Gosuslugi RuID" carried out
- Download the mobile application «Gosuslugi RuID» — it will become available in mobile app stores closer to June 30, 2025. Install it in advance to calmly go through the registration and prepare for the trip.
- Create a personal profile:
- Upload a photo.
- Provide personal data.
- Indicate entry and exit dates.
- Receive a QR code and to prevent unpleasant situations take a screenshot of the screen with the QR code.
- Show the QR code at border control when crossing the border.
When crossing the border with Russia, you will undergo a biometric identification procedure. At the border control, they will ask you to take a photo and give fingerprints. This is a mandatory part of entering the country, provided by current regulations. Biometric data is used to confirm identity and ensure the safety of all participants in the border process. The procedure takes little time and helps speed up the check, reducing the risk of delays or misunderstandings
Who is exempt from registration in RuID
The following categories of citizens do not need to register:
- Citizens of Belarus.
- Children under 6 years old.
- Persons entering by:
- Visa;
- Temporary residence permit (TRP);
- Residence permit (RP).
- Diplomats and their family members.
- Employees of international organizations and their representations accredited in Russia, and their families.
