Electronic visa to Russia: new rules from August 23

From August 23, 2025, new rules for issuing a unified electronic visa came into effect in Russia. Now its validity period has doubled and is 120 days from the date of issue, and the maximum stay period under the visa has been extended from 16 to 30 days.

At the same time, the document remains single-entry as before, but thanks to the new conditions, foreign citizens gain more flexibility in planning their trips. The changes apply only to applications submitted from midnight on August 23 Moscow time, previously submitted documents will be processed according to the old rules.

The list of countries whose citizens can use the electronic visa, as well as the list of entry points, remain the same.

The innovations make the electronic visa a more convenient tool for travel and business visits, bringing its conditions closer to international practice and enhancing Russia's attractiveness to foreign tourists and partners.
