This document will be provided in PDF format and will contain your photo and a QR code. It confirms that you will be granted a visa upon presenting your passport and documents at the specified Iranian embassy, consulate, or airport as indicated in your application.

Apply for an electronic visa - preliminary approval

You need to fill out an online application, providing accurate information according to the type of visa. Confirm your email address when submitting the visa application, as all communication will be conducted through this address. This official application is sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran. Consulate staff use the provided information to review the application and determine the applicant's eligibility for a non-immigrant visa. Print and save the notification of visa application submission.

Receive notification of visa issuance

After reviewing your application, you will receive a notification of approval or rejection. In case of approval, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran will send you a visa issuance notification in PDF format to your email.

Visit the consulate or airport to obtain the visa

You can obtain the visa either at the Iranian embassy in your country or upon arrival at the airport, depending on the place of visa issuance you specified in your application. After document verification, you will be issued the final visa to Iran.

Since 2018, the visa to Iran is not stamped in the passport, but is issued on a separate sheet-insert. Entry and exit stamps from the country are not placed in the passport itself, but directly on this insert with the visa. Throughout your stay in Iran, you must have the visa-insert with you along with the passport and keep it until the time of final departure from the country.

Interview

Some visa applicants may need to undergo an interview, while others may obtain a visa without it. In case of an interview, you need to bring all necessary documents.

The electronic visa (visa notification) is valid for 3 months. The visa itself is usually valid for entry for 3 months.
