Saudi Arabia Extends E-Visa for Tourists to Four Additional Nationalities
On November 5, 2026, Saudi Arabian authorities announced a further expansion of their electronic tourist visa (e-visa) program. Travelers from four additional countries can now apply for an e-visa online or obtain a visa upon arrival. With this step, the number of nationalities eligible for the program rises to a total of 72.
Among the newly included countries are Bosnia and Herzegovina and Mexico. The complete list was published by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Tourism and is part of a series of similar expansions that have been taking place regularly since the introduction of the tourist e-visa in 2019. The Saudi Arabian government’s goal is to open the country more widely to international tourism and to make entry straightforward for visitors from an ever-increasing number of countries.
For travelers from the countries in question, this means they will no longer need to rely on other, often more complicated visa categories to visit Saudi Arabia as tourists. The e-visa generally allows for multiple entries within a specific validity period and covers tourist stays, including visits to holy sites outside the Umrah and Hajj seasons. It is important to note that the specific requirements, validity period, and permitted length of stay may vary depending on nationality.
Anyone from one of the newly eligible countries planning a trip to Saudi Arabia should research the appropriate visa type well in advance. In addition to the standard e-visa for Saudi Arabia, there are also special categories depending on the purpose of the trip, such as for business stays or family visits. An overview of all available options can be found in our visa guide for Saudi Arabia, which details the respective requirements and processing times.

The latest expansion underscores Saudi Arabia’s ongoing trend toward establishing itself as an international travel destination. With the growing number of Vision 2030 projects, new tourist attractions, and improved infrastructure, demand for entry is expected to continue rising in the coming years. Travelers benefiting from the new regulations should keep an eye on the current requirements, as further adjustments to the e-visa program cannot be ruled out.
