Apply for Tourist Visa to Turkmenistan Online

Planning a holiday in Turkmenistan to explore popular tourist destinations such as the Karakum Desert, the Kopet Dag Mountains, or the ancient ruins of the country? The tourist visa allows you to realize your travel plans. As a foreigner, you are not allowed to enter Turkmenistan without a visa.

In order to apply for a travel permit for vacation purposes, you will need, in addition to the usual application documents such as passport, passport photo, etc., an invitation certified by the Turkmenistan Foreigners Registration Authority (Department for the Registration of Foreign Citizens). Valid invitation letters are only available to travelers from licensed tourism organizations in Turkmenistan.

The Turkmen embassy usually issues visas for single entry and a stay of up to 10, 15, or 30 working days. In exceptional cases, longer visits are also possible. The approved visa validity depends on the invitation from the destination country.

It is important to note that the authorities do not restrict travel permits spatially, as visas with a validity for the whole of Turkmenistan have been available according to Turkmen law since the year 2000. Exceptions are made for border areas such as the Dasoguz Province and nature reserves like Repetek. Special permits issued by the Foreign Ministry or the Ministry of Nature Conservation of the destination country are required to enter these areas.
