+30 days of legal departure: a new relaxation from Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia has extended the grace period for holders of expired visas for 30 days starting from July 26, 2025. This was reported by the Main Passport Directorate (Jawazat) through official channels. The decision applies to all types of expired guest visas and allows foreign nationals to leave the country without additional penalties provided that all previously accrued fees and sanctions have been paid.

To take advantage of this extension, foreign nationals must apply through the Tawasul service on the Absher platform. Authorities emphasize the importance of timely response to avoid further legal consequences.

The initiative was first introduced in June 2025 as part of measures timed to the start of the New Year by Hijri. The term of the current extension begins on Saturday, July 26, and applies to all nationalities.

The measure applies to all foreign nationals in the country on expired visas, including visitors from the following countries:

Bangladesh

Egypt

India

Indonesia

Nepal

Pakistan

Sudan

Philippines

Sri Lanka

Ethiopia

Jawazat recommends that everyone affected by this measure closely monitor notifications on the Absher platform and apply for departure as soon as possible to take advantage of the additional time provided.
