Indonesia has relaxed investment rules for the Nusantara Golden Visa
Indonesia has lowered the investment thresholds for obtaining the "Golden Visa Nusantara" (IKN), making it easier to access long-term residence permits for foreign investors involved in the development of the country's new capital. The minimum investment amount is now USD 5 million for a five-year visa and USD 10 million for a ten-year visa, which is significantly below previous requirements.
"Golden Visa Nusantara" is exclusively intended for investors who invest in approved projects of the new capital in East Kalimantan. It provides the right to reside in Indonesia without the need for frequent renewals and is not related to tourist or remote work visas. According to authorities, following the review of conditions, more than 1,000 such visas have already been issued, indicating high international interest.
Foreign nationals who can verify the legality of the source of funds, meet the investment threshold, and collaborate with accredited international companies from the official list may apply. The reduction in requirements is viewed by the government as a strategic step to accelerate capital and expertise attraction at the early stage of Nusantara's construction — one of the largest urban development projects in Southeast Asia.
