Shanghai's first visa-free business zone is ready to open
In Shanghai, preparations are being completed for the launch of China's first visa-free business zone — an international business hub located between Pudong Airport and the future East Station.
The project, approved by the State Council of China, covers an area of 880,000 m² and will become a key element of the country's strategy to strengthen international economic cooperation and trade ties. Full completion of construction is expected by 2030.
The main feature of the zone will be the possibility of visa-free stays for up to 30 days for foreign business guests invited by registered companies. Inside the hub, it will be possible to undergo immigration procedures and avail services for participants of international exhibitions.
The infrastructure of the pilot project is already ready: a conference center, Radisson Blu hotel, business and customs services are operational, as well as a modern transport system connecting the zone with the airport.
