EU closes Schengen zone to Russians: instead of multiple-entry visas, now only single-entry visas are available
Since the beginning of this week, the European Union is introducing radically new visa rules for citizens of the Russian Federation. According to the official position of the EU, instead of the previously common multiple visas, in most cases, only single-entry permits will now be issued for entry into the Schengen area. Exceptions are planned only for a narrow circle of people, including those traveling for humanitarian reasons or possessing dual citizenship of EU countries.
The decision was a logical continuation of previously adopted restrictions, such as the suspension of the simplified visa regime back in 2022.
