Service visas for Algeria

You are a representative of your home country and visiting Algeria on official business? If you have a service passport, you have the opportunity to apply for a service visa for Algeria. German and Austrian civil servants are not exempt from the visa requirement, exceptions are only made for some holders of diplomatic passports (see diplomatic visa). However, Swiss citizens traveling with a diplomatic or service passport are allowed to enter Algeria visa-free.

Issuance of service visas for the northwestern African country is exclusively done in Germany at the Algerian Embassy in Berlin. Visa issuance by the consulate is not possible. Applicants have the option to submit their application documents personally or through an accredited visa agency. Please note, however, that the diplomatic mission reserves the right to summon travelers for a personal interview if there are any questions regarding the purpose of the trip.

The validity period and the permitted length of stay are determined individually by the Algerian immigration authorities. In the case of the service visa for Algeria, both parameters are based on the Verbal Note.
