What are the requirements for a visa application?
When applying for a transit visa for Uzbekistan, you are required to submit proof of your onward travel. The authorities will verify if the main visa for your destination country is already in your passport. Additionally, they request transit documents for the following states. These are only valid with a confirmed date.
If you are traveling not as an air passenger or train passenger, but by car, truck, motorcycle, bus, or another private vehicle, you will need the following additional documents:
- international driver's license
- written confirmation of the good condition of your vehicle, e.g. in the form of the last TÜV report
- for truck drivers: documents providing information about the goods to be transported and the destination in Uzbekistan
What validity does the transit visa for Uzbekistan have?
Transit with a private car and crossing the country as a flight or train passenger is limited to a maximum of 72 hours. The Uzbek foreign missions issue transit visas for single and - for an additional fee - double entry and exit. A double visa, for example, is required if Uzbekistan is your transit country on both the outbound and return journey. The permitted length of stay depends on the applicant's travel route and is as follows:
- up to 24 hours
- up to 48 hours
- up to 72 hours
If the travel times cannot be clearly estimated, it is recommended to apply for a tourist visa. Our visa service will be happy to advise you.
Please note in your travel planning that border crossings by land are usually only possible from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. On public holidays, different opening hours at border crossings are to be expected. Border clearance in air and rail traffic, on the other hand, is carried out around the clock.
Official travel and safety information are provided by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Berlin and the Uzbek Consulate in Frankfurt am Main or the foreign missions in your home country. If you have any questions regarding the transit visa for Uzbekistan, please feel free to contact us.
