It's now easier for Europeans: Vietnam has extended visa-free entry

From August 15, 2025, Vietnam significantly expands its unilateral visa-free entry program. Now citizens of twelve more European countries will be able to visit the country without a visa for up to 45 days. The decision is formalized by Resolution 229/NQ-CP and will be effective until August 14, 2028.

Visa-free entry is open for:

Belgium

Bulgaria

Croatia

Czech Republic

Hungary

Luxembourg

Netherlands

Poland

Romania

Slovakia

Slovenia

Switzerland

Vietnam had already provided a similar regime for citizens of 12 countries:

Denmark

Finland

France

Germany

Italy

Japan

Norway

Russia

South Korea

Spain

Sweden

United Kingdom

In addition to tourists, the new rules include special visa relaxations for high-ranking guests, leading specialists, major investors, cultural, artistic, sports, and tourism figures, as well as honorary consuls. Such categories can obtain multiple entry permits for up to five years, subject to passport requirements.
