No visa required: China and Korea strengthen tourism ties
Starting from September 2025, South Korea will introduce visa-free entry for tourist groups from China, which is expected to significantly increase the flow of travelers and give a strong boost to the country's tourism sector. The program starts on September 29, on the eve of the celebration of China's Independence Day, and will last until June 30, 2026. The measure will become part of mutual exchange: previously, China allowed South Korean citizens to enter without a visa.
According to experts, South Korea's new step will attract more travelers during peak demand periods, increase revenue for the hotel business, retail, and transport, and enhance cultural exchange between the countries. Particularly, destinations with rich historical and natural heritage, such as Jeju-do, Gyeongju, and Gangwon Province, will benefit.
