Vietnam Business Visa

The Business Visa Vietnam (German Business Visa) is issued by the Vietnamese consular departments to service and business travelers, international investors, and workers of foreign companies based in Vietnam. A tourist visa is not allowed for business stays. Anyone submitting a visa application to the Embassy or Consulate of the Republic of Vietnam is required to truthfully state the purpose of travel.

In addition to the usual documents such as visa application, passport, and passport photo, all business travelers need an entry permit with reference number (Approval-Number), also known as entry permit or business invitation.

To obtain an entry permit, it is necessary to contact the business partner in Vietnam. This partner will submit an application to the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs or a relevant local authority. Once the request is approved, the respective embassy in your home country will be informed. When submitting your visa application, include a copy of the entry permit with the Approval Number.

Please note regarding the timing of your visa application that the reference number is only valid for 20 days after issuance. The visa application can be submitted no earlier than 3 days after the entry permit is granted, but must be submitted within the validity period of the reference.

The validity of the official visa and the approved length of stay depends on the information in the invitation letter. Visas for business trips are available for a duration of 15, 30 and 90 days or up to one year, as well as for single or multiple entries. After entry, the business visa for Vietnam can be converted into a residence permit of up to 3 years upon meeting certain conditions.
