Thailand extends visa-free travel for India: 60 days of travel
Thailand has officially announced the extension of its visa-free regime for citizens of India: travelers can now stay in the country for up to 60 days without the need to obtain a visa. This decision, effective from December 1, 2025, aims to boost tourism and will allow India to become a key source of arrivals into the Kingdom. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) expects that a longer stay will attract up to 2.5 million Indian tourists by 2026, offering the opportunity to explore cultural attractions, island resorts, and the country's metropolises without rush. Travelers just need to have a valid passport, a return ticket, and proof of financial solvency to enter through international airports, including Suvarnabhumi and Phuket. The possibility of extending the stay to 90 days at immigration offices makes the vacation even more comfortable.
In light of the recovery of the tourism industry after the pandemic, India is seen as a priority market for Thailand. The earlier cancellation of visa fees for Indian tourists already contributed to an increase in arrivals, and the new decision further extends this effect. Popular destinations, such as Phuket, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Pattaya, promise a rich program for tourists of all ages, from beach holidays to excursion routes. Authorities also consider environmental aspects and promote sustainable tourism through plastic charges and special applications for tourists. The extension of the visa-free regime is a strategic step by Thailand aimed at strengthening the country's position among popular tourist destinations and ensuring a longer and safer stay for Indian travelers.
