Saudi Arabia introduces mandatory hotel reservations for Umrah visas

Saudi Arabia has introduced new rules for obtaining an Umrah visa in 2025. Now applicants are required to provide confirmation of hotel bookings and the availability of transport when submitting documents.

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and related agencies have clarified that accommodation confirmation must be officially issued. Similarly, confirmation of local transport organization for pilgrims is required.

The change is aimed at digitalizing and centralizing Umrah services, as well as protecting pilgrims from fraud. Authorities note that the new rules help better manage accommodation and people flows during peak periods.
