From September 15, visa-free travel to China—a dream come true for Russian tourists!

From September 15, 2025, China opens its doors to Russians without a visa. Now, to travel to China, only a valid foreign passport will be required, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC. The new procedure is introduced on a trial basis for one year — until September 14, 2026, and the visa-free stay is limited to 30 days.

It will be possible to enter the country for tourism and business purposes, for excursions, visits to relatives and friends, as well as as part of exchange programs.

The Russian Union of the Tourism Industry called China's decision historic and expect it to be a stimulus for a sharp increase in tourist flow. Experts predict that China will quickly become one of the most popular foreign destinations for Russian vacationers — alongside Turkey and Thailand.

In the State Duma, they expressed hope that the interest in travel will be mutual, but emphasized the need to increase the number of international flights for this new stage in the relationship between the two countries to be truly successful.
