Antigua and Barbuda launches new electronic arrival system to speed up customs clearances
Antigua and Barbuda have launched a new electronic arrival system that will greatly simplify the customs clearance process for all travelers. The system, introduced in April 2025, will allow foreign citizens to save time at the airport checkpoint.
Instead of filling out a paper customs form upon arrival, travelers must enter their data on the official portal 72 hours before departure, including flight information, home address, purpose of visit, and place of stay on the islands. After entering personal and trip information, they will be asked standard customs questions.
Upon completion of the registration process, travelers will receive a QR code to their email, which must be presented at customs upon arrival and departure. This innovation will significantly reduce waiting time and make the trip more comfortable.
Currently, the electronic arrival system is only available to air passengers, but there are plans to expand its functionality for travelers arriving through seaports and private aircraft.
