Ban on entry into the United States from January 1, 2026: complete list of 39 countries
The President of the USA signed an executive order to expand the ban on entry into the country, which will take effect from January 1, 2026. The new measures will affect the issuance of immigration and non-immigration visas to citizens of 39 countries, as well as individuals traveling on documents of the Palestinian Authority. However, the restrictions do not apply to those who are already in the USA or have a valid visa on the specified date.
A complete ban on the issuance of any visas will be in effect for citizens of the following countries:
Afghanistan, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, Haiti, Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Laos, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, Syria
Partial restrictions, which include a ban on immigration visas and visas of categories B, F, M, and J, are introduced for citizens of the following countries:
Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Burundi, Ivory Coast, Cuba, Dominica, Gabon, Gambia, Malawi, Mauritania, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Togo, Tonga, Venezuela, Zambia, Zimbabwe
The White House stated that the decision is aimed at strengthening the system of migration control and checking those entering. The list of countries will be reviewed every 180 days, allowing for further expansion or adjustment.
