Israel plant offenbar Ausweitung des e-Visums B/2 auf mehr Nationalitäten
23.10.2026

Israel apparently plans to expand the B/2 e-visa to include more nationalities

Israel may be on the verge of significantly expanding its electronic tourist visa (B/2 e-visa), which has so far been available only to a limited number of nationalities. In a notice from the Israeli Embassy in Singapore updated on October 23, 2026, nationals of numerous countries and territories are encouraged to apply for the B/2 tourist visa through the Israeli Immigration Authority’s online application process. In total, the announcement lists 63 countries and territories whose citizens may be eligible for the electronic application process in the future.

This development would be significant, as the B/2 e-visa has so far been available only to a limited group of nationalities, while travelers from many other countries have had to rely on traditional application methods. An expansion would simplify and expedite access to tourist stays in Israel for significantly more people, as electronic visas generally involve less paperwork and shorter processing times than traditional visa applications.

However, there are some inconsistencies in this announcement that call for caution. The Israeli authorities’ official application portal continues to restrict access to the already known, eligible nationalities. The discrepancy between the list provided by the embassy in Singapore and the list of countries actually listed on the portal raises questions as to whether this is a change that has already been decided but not yet fully implemented, or whether the announcement was published prematurely or in error.

For travelers and visa applicants, this means one thing above all: wait and see, and closely monitor developments. Anyone from one of the countries mentioned in the announcement should not rely solely on this announcement but should have the current eligibility status carefully verified before planning a trip. Especially in the case of last-minute changes to visa requirements, it is advisable to find out well in advance what the actual requirements are to avoid delays or complications upon entry.

Even today, certain nationalities have the option to use an electronic travel authorization for Israel. We assist travelers in identifying the visa option that’s right for them and in submitting their application correctly and completely—whether it’s the ETA-IL for Israel or a traditional tourist visa for Israel. Should the announced expansion of the B/2 e-visa actually be confirmed, we will adjust our services accordingly so that customers from the newly eligible countries can benefit from the simplified procedures.

Until official confirmation and full implementation, it remains unclear exactly when and for which nationalities the expansion will take effect. Travelers planning a trip to Israel should therefore check the current entry requirements applicable to their nationality well in advance of departure. Our visa overview for Israel provides an overview of the various visa categories for Israel, ranging from tourist and business visas to visas for study and work stays.
