Current Entry Requirements for the United Kingdom

As of July 3, 2026, the travel and safety advisories for the United Kingdom have been updated. These updates pertain in particular to entry requirements and the introduction of the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA).

Since 2025, travelers wishing to enter the United Kingdom are required to have a passport. Entry with an identity card is no longer permitted. This also applies to transit passengers. In addition, an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) is required unless the traveler holds another residence permit or visa.

The ETA is an electronic document that must be applied for before travel. Transportation providers are required to ensure that travelers have a valid ETA before they are transported. We will handle the application for your ETA to ensure a smooth entry.

In the British Overseas Territories, online immigration and customs forms are also being phased in. These measures are intended to simplify and speed up the entry process.

New regulations will apply to school trips to the United Kingdom starting August 1, 2026. These regulations specifically concern the student rosters required for entry. We will assist you in applying for the necessary documents.
