Entry to Angola - only with visa

You are planning a stay in the Republic of Angola? Foreign travelers are required to have a visa in the southwestern African country. The visa for Angola must be applied for at the embassy or another consular foreign mission before the trip. For this, you need a valid passport. In Germany, the Angolan embassy in Berlin and the Angolan consulate general in Frankfurt are the competent contact points. Here you can also get further information on the current security situation or new entry requirements. However, information of this kind can often be viewed on the Republic of Angola's website.

Please note that the Angolan embassy requires personal appearance for applicants applying for a visa for Angola.

However, you can also apply for the visa for Angola with us and we will submit all documents to the embassy for you. Afterwards, you will receive an interview invitation for a personal appearance. Often, it is sufficient for the applicant to appear only once. There is no need for further appearances for subsequent applications. However, the embassy reserves the right to decide on a case-by-case basis. Like other countries, the Republic of Angola distinguishes between several visa categories depending on the purpose of the visitor's trip. For example, different entry requirements apply for tourist purposes than for a business trip, a study trip, a work stay, or a transit. If you navigate to the individual visa types, you will find information on the required application documents, the validity of the entry permits, and the permitted length of stay.

Our Visa Service for Angola

At least two visits to the authorities are required for the visa application - one to submit the documents and one to pick up the passport with the valid visa. In addition, there is now a personal interview at the Angolan embassy. Here we can support you at least in advance by forwarding your documents to the embassy and then arranging an appointment for the interview. Long journeys and waiting in queues often make the application procedure a costly and time-consuming undertaking. Language barriers or formal errors present additional obstacles. If you have any further questions on this topic, please feel free to contact us.

FAQ about the Angola Visa

Do I need my original passport?

Yes, a copy is not sufficient, as the visa endorsement is directly made in the identification document. Please choose a secure shipping method for your documents.

What is the earliest and latest application time for the visa before the trip?

It is recommended to submit the visa application 1 to 2 months before the trip. The processing time at the Angolan embassy can vary significantly, and we have no control over it. If you need your visa urgently and quickly, please contact us by phone to find a solution together.

Are the embassy visa fees included in your service costs?

Yes, our final service prices include the consular fees as well as our service fee for obtaining your visa.

Do children need their own passport and visa for Angola?

Yes, all foreign visitors, including children and infants, are subject to passport and visa requirements. Entries in the parents' passports have not been valid for trips abroad since 2012. For children under 12 years, the machine-readable child passport with a photo is permissible. The same entry requirements apply as for adults (the identification document is valid for at least 6 months and contains at least 2 free pages).

How much does the Angola visa cost for children?

The same fees apply as for adults.

Does the tourist visa allow non-typical tourist activities such as visiting friends?

Yes, during your trip, you are allowed to visit friends and relatives or participate in sports events. Participation in cultural and scientific conferences, meetings, and seminars is also possible. It is important that all activities are non-remunerative. Any form of employment is prohibited. The purpose of the trip must be truthfully stated in the application form or in the letter addressed to the consul.

What is the difference between validity and permitted length of stay?

The visa validity determines the period within which entry must take place. The visa is valid from the date of issue. The length of stay is the time that the traveler is actually allowed to spend in Angola.

In the case of a tourist visa, for example, visitors have 60 days to enter the Republic of Angola. However, you are not allowed to stay on-site for up to 60 days. The permitted length of stay is a maximum of 30 days. If the visa holder does not cross the Angolan border within 60 days after the date of issue, the travel permit becomes unused. A new visa is required.
