Tourist visa to Sierra Leone

A tourist visa is only applicable to visitors coming for tourism, business, religious or academic purposes, as well as for ordinary visits to family and friends. It is NOT intended for individuals traveling to the country for other reasons, such as employment, education, as dependents, diplomats, etc. In these cases, it is necessary to apply for the appropriate visa before traveling.

The validity of the visa is 30 days, but it can be extended at the immigration department upon arrival in the country. The visa allows only one entry, which means that it cannot be used for re-entry after leaving the country.

This visa can be obtained at any of the three main entry points into the country:

• Freetown International Airport, Lungi
• Jendema – border crossing with Liberia
• Gbalamuya – border crossing with Guinea

All other foreign nationals must apply for a tourist visa in advance.
