Montenegro: Visas for Turkey may be reinstated in two weeks
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro stated: a political storm is approaching a resolution. According to him, the decision to suspend visa-free entry for Turkish citizens may be canceled in the next 10–15 days. Prime Minister Miloyko Shpaich keeps the issue under personal control, and Turkish consulates have literally been overwhelmed by a wave of visitors — the flow of people trying to understand the new visa reality is growing every day.
The cause of the crisis was an October incident with an attack in Podgorica, which was initially mistakenly associated with Turkish citizens. This instantly heated up the streets with anti-visa protests and pushed the authorities to a drastic decision. However, the Supreme Court clarified the situation: the detainees were not involved. Now, as emotions give way to facts, the country is preparing to roll back temporary restrictions and restore the previous travel order.
