Yemen launches e-Visa: online application now available

On June 24, 2025, the authorities of Yemen officially announced the launch of a new electronic visa (e-Visa) system for foreign citizens. The initiative has been implemented by the Immigration, Passports and Citizenship Authority in Aden with the support of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), and in cooperation with the ministries of interior, foreign affairs, and with financial assistance from the USA.

Yemen has joined the number of countries that have simplified visa procedures thanks to digitalization. As of today, online visa processing is available to citizens of all countries, including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Russia, Turkey, India, Pakistan, Egypt, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, China, and others.

To apply for an electronic visa, it is necessary to provide a passport (valid for at least 180 days), a return ticket, medical documents, and papers confirming the purpose of the trip. Additionally, applicants must specify the planned duration of their stay in the country.

The authorities of Yemen state that this step is aimed at simplifying entry, strengthening border control, and increasing the transparency of administrative procedures amidst ongoing instability in the country.
