Greece opens “golden visa” for start-ups
Greece launches a unique five-year 'golden visa' program for startup investors. The program is designed for one year with the possibility of extension for two years if investment conditions and job creation are met. Violation of the requirements leads to the cancellation of the residence permit.
Participation conditions:
Minimum investment — 250,000 euros in shares or capital of a Greek startup through the Elevate Greece platform.
In the first year of investment, at least two jobs must be created, to be maintained for five years.
Investments can be made through a Greek legal entity (sole ownership) or a foreign legal entity (up to three shareholders with a stake of at least 33%).
Permit holders cannot own more than 33% of shares or voting rights.
The program aims to attract foreign capital and stimulate the development of innovative companies in the country. Greece is betting on startups as a key driver of the economy and new jobs.
