Bolivia abolishes visas for eight countries
Bolivia drastically changes its tone and the rules of the game: the country has announced a complete abandonment of visa barriers for citizens of eight countries — Bulgaria, Israel, Malta, Romania, South Africa, South Korea, UAE, USA.
In La Paz, this step is called a 'turn towards peace' and it is emphasized: the previous restrictions were dictated solely by politics. Now, the focus is on openness, economic development, and expanding international ties.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs stated that the transition of the mentioned countries to a visa-free category will be gradual but fundamental — Bolivia is removing ideological walls and preparing for the growth of tourism, investment, and business activity. According to government estimates, the reform could bring about 80 million dollars to the country by 2030.
