Visa for Seychelles

All visitors to the Republic of Seychelles are required to undergo immigration procedures when entering and leaving the country.

Entry requirements differ for nationals, foreign residents and tourists. In advance, familiarize yourself with the list of documents required for your age category and your entry preparation status.

Under the Immigration Act, every foreign national arriving in the Republic of Seychelles is required to complete a digital Travel Authorization. This digital form replaces the previously used paper form and serves as an authorization to travel to the Republic of Seychelles. The Seychelles Immigration Service reserves the right to refuse entry.

Seychelles offers visa-free travel for most travelers, with the exception of passport holders from Kosovo, as Seychelles does not recognize that state and does not allow its citizens to enter.

Although a visa is not required to enter Seychelles, visitors must have a valid passport or other travel documents recognized by the Seychelles government.

The passport must be valid for the entire period of intended stay and until the return to the holder's country of origin or residence.

Seychelles entry permits are issued for travelers coming for leisure, business, visiting friends or family, provided the following requirements are met:

• The traveler is not a prohibited immigrant.
• He/she does not have a valid residence permit in Seychelles.
• Has a valid return ticket or ticket for onward travel.
• Accommodation is confirmed.
• Sufficient funds are available for the duration of the stay (minimum US$150 or equivalent in other currency per day).

All foreign nationals visiting Seychelles are granted visa-free access. However, they are required to obtain a Travel Authorization upon arrival. This must be applied for at least 10 days prior to travel, unless they are exempted from this requirement.

The Visitor Authorization is initially valid for three months. It may be renewed for up to three months, with the possibility of further extensions, but the total stay must not exceed twelve months. Travelers must have a valid passport, return or transit ticket, proof of accommodation and sufficient funds.

Here are all the types of Seychelles permits you can apply for:

• Transit Permit. This permit is issued to anyone who needs to transit Seychelles to another country.
• Tourist Permit. Issued to foreigners who want to visit the country for sightseeing and tourist purposes.
• Study Permit. This permit is for international students who wish to study in Seychelles. Applicants must prove that they have been accepted to study at a university in the country and that they are financially secure to cover all expenses during their studies. Study permit holders are not allowed to work in Seychelles.
• Work Permit. This permit allows its holder to work in Seychelles as an employee or self-employed person.

Seychelles has entered into reciprocal visa waiver agreements with a number of countries. Citizens of these countries are not required to obtain a visit permit for short-term stays under the terms of each agreement.

If you wish to stay longer than this, you must also apply for an entry permit.

Citizens of other countries, including Germany, must obtain an entry permit in advance before traveling to Seychelles.

A yellow fever vaccination certificate will only be required if you are coming from a country or region where the disease is endemic. If you are in the transit zone of an airport in an endemic region for less than 12 hours, you will not need a yellow fever vaccination certificate to travel to Seychelles.
