The UAE introduces a new category of guest visas for qualified professionals

From June 30, 2025, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will launch a new category of guest visas that will allow qualified professionals to legally enter the country to look for work or perform short-term work assignments. This initiative is aimed at attracting international talents and supporting growing sectors of the economy, such as artificial intelligence, renewable energy sources, infrastructure, and tourism.

The new visa will be available in three single entry options: for 60, 90, and 120 days. To obtain a visa no local sponsorship or having a confirmed job offer is required. This will greatly simplify the process for freelancers, independent contractors, and recent graduates who want to explore employment opportunities in the UAE.

In accordance with the updated policy, the following selection criteria must be met to obtain a guest visa for work purposes. These include:

  • Having a skill level of MOHRE (UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation) from 1 to 3, for example, professions such as engineers, medical specialists, and business experts;
  • Having a bachelor's degree or higher level of education;
  • Being a graduate of one of the top 500 universities in the world within the last two years;
  • Confirmation of financial solvency to provide for living in the country.

These requirements ensure that only qualified professionals with the necessary skills and financial stability can take advantage of the new visa policy.

The UAE is actively working on attracting international talents to strengthen its position on the global stage and continue the development of key sectors of the economy.
