The Peruvian government plans to introduce a visa for digital nomads
The Peruvian government has officially announced its plans to introduce a new program, the Digital Nomad Visa. This innovative solution will allow remote workers to stay in the country for 365 days, with the possibility of extension. Currently, European Union citizens can visit Peru with a tourist visa that is valid for 183 days. The aim of the new program is to bring international experts to Peru in the hope that they will boost the country's economy through tourism and services, while promoting cultural exchange. The main goal is that some of the visitors decide to stay in the country and expand their businesses by gaining investor status.
The number of digital nomads in Peru is constantly increasing, especially in the capital Lima, where many international companies are based. One of the reasons why Peru is attractive for digital nomads working for European companies is the low cost of living in the country.
