Traveling to Nigeria just got easier: electronic visas are now available

From May 1, 2025, Nigeria officially launched an electronic visa (e-Visa) system and digital Landing & Exit Cards. The new e-Visa allows applicants to receive a decision within 48 hours or faster, and the ready visa is sent to the applicant's email. 

The system completely replaces the previous practice of issuing visas on arrival — Visa on Arrival is canceled, while previously issued visas remain valid only until May 30, 2025. Along with this, a digital landing and exit card (Landing & Exit Card) has been introduced, which must be filled out online before boarding the flight or departure, simplifying immigration control.

 According to regulatory and news publications, electronic visas are issued and delivered exclusively by email, without the need for a physical sticker in the passport. The new regime is aimed at speeding up the visa process, increasing convenience for travelers, and digitizing immigration control in Nigeria.
