Mozambique launches ten-year visas for investors
The government of Mozambique has announced the introduction of a ten-year residency visa for major investors who have invested at least five million US dollars. The decision was presented by President Daniel Chapo at the first national tourism summit in Vilankulo. The program aims to attract capital, develop tourism infrastructure, and strengthen business ties with international partners.
The new visa initiative also includes five-year residency permits for entrepreneurs who have invested from 500 thousand dollars. This approach will allow the country to attract both major investors and representatives of medium-sized businesses. Mozambique hopes that simplifying visa procedures will be a stimulus for the influx of investments in key sectors — tourism, energy, transport, and agriculture.
Alongside visa reforms, the government is developing aviation communications and infrastructure to make Mozambique more open to international tourism. Vilankulo is officially recognized as the country's tourism capital, and the Inhambane province will become a zone for elite golf tourism.
