Mali announces deposit requirement for US citizens' visas
Mali announced that US citizens applying for tourist or business visas to this West African country will have to deposit a security of up to 10,000 US dollars, as part of a new visa policy.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mali, this decision is a retaliatory measure to the recently announced American visa bond program, which will take effect on October 23 and will affect Malian citizens applying for B-1/B-2 visas for business and tourist trips.
In official statements, Mali emphasizes that the measure is based on the principle of reciprocity and is aimed at applying the same conditions to US citizens that the US imposes on citizens of Mali
