Kuwait has temporarily suspended the issuance of e-visas: what does this mean for travelers?
Kuwait's electronic visa system is temporarily unavailable to travelers as the authorities have suspended their e-Visa service. The country's authorities have decided to update the portal for its development and improvement, but have not yet provided an exact schedule for the resumption of the e-Visa system.
However, citizens of 53 countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, and several other European countries, can obtain a tourist visa upon arrival at Kuwait International Airport. To apply for a visa, tourists need to visit the immigration checkpoint at the airport. To obtain a single-entry tourist visa valid for 3 months, travelers need to provide the following documents:
- a passport valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Kuwait;
- a return ticket or a round-trip ticket to another destination;
- a consular fee
