The digital revolution: how to enter Cambodia now

Since July 2025, travel to Cambodia has become even more modern and convenient. The country has completely abandoned paper stamps and stickers with QR codes, replacing them with a new digital solution — v-Pass. This document is automatically created after passing immigration control and is sent to the traveler by email or to the mobile application Cambodia e-Arrival.

Cambodia has long been taking steps towards digitalization: first, there was the possibility of obtaining an electronic visa online, then — an electronic arrival form, which displaced paper cards on airplanes. Now v-Pass has been added to these innovations, becoming a logical continuation of modernization.

The country's main immigration office notes that the new system significantly speeds up the border crossing process and enhances its security. The traveler only needs to present a passport and visa, after which his entry is recorded, and the digital pass is sent automatically. Subsequently, this document can be presented in electronic or printed form if confirmation of stay is required.
