Digital Nomad Visa in Japan 2025: New Opportunities for Remote Work
Japan has introduced a new visa category — the 'Digital Nomad Visa', designed for professionals working remotely for foreign employers. This step was a response to the global rise in popularity of remote employment and the country's desire to regulate tourist flows.
Visa holders can live and work in Japan for up to six months, engaging in activities for overseas companies or clients. Main requirements include a confirmed annual income of at least 10 million yen, having medical insurance, and citizenship of a country that has a tax agreement with Japan. It is also allowed to include family members in the application.
The visa is not extendable, however, re-application is possible after spending six months outside the country.
Any visa to Japan, including the 'Digital Nomad Visa', can be processed through the visa agency www.buch-dein-visum.de — quickly, conveniently, and without errors, with professional support at all stages of the document submission.
