Botswana e-visas are once again available after a temporary suspension

At the end of April, the Botswana electronic visa portal was suspended without prior notice, causing difficulties for travelers wishing to submit new visa applications online. However, the system has now been fully restored and is again available for applications.

The Botswana Department of Immigration confirms that all system functions have been fully restored. Citizens of countries that require a visa to enter the country can once again submit documents in the usual manner, without the need to visit embassies or consulates. This significantly simplifies the visa acquisition process and makes travel to Botswana more accessible.

The Botswana electronic visa portal allows for the processing of various types of visas, including tourist, business, work, guest, investor, transit, student, as well as diplomatic and official visas. 

For citizens of the European Union, the USA, Canada, Japan, and the United Kingdom, who are allowed visa-free entry for short-term tourist and business trips, an electronic visa is not required.

With the restoration of the portal, Botswana is once again ready to welcome tourists and business travelers from around the world, inviting them to experience the unique nature, culture, and hospitality of the country.
