Armenia has introduced a temporary visa-free regime for citizens of 113 countries
The authorities of Armenia have announced the introduction of a temporary visa-free regime for citizens of 113 countries. The decision is effective from January 1 to July 1, 2026, and is aimed at stimulating tourism and business activity.
According to official information, visa-free entry is granted to foreign citizens from the approved list of countries provided they have a valid residence permit issued:
The allowed stay is up to 180 days within one year. Residence permit must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia clarifies that the residence permit must be presented in the form of a plastic card or a sticker in the passport with data in Latin (name, nationality, date of birth, validity according to the Gregorian calendar). Border services have the right to check the authenticity of documents.
For citizens who are not eligible for temporary visa exemption, the electronic visa system continues to operate.
The authorities expect that the temporary visa-free regime will have a positive impact on the tourism sector and strengthen the country's international positions in 2026.
