The Philippines expands its electronic visa system to more countries
As of September 29, 2025, the Philippines has officially expanded its electronic visa (e-Visa) system to citizens of four more European countries: France, Austria, Greece, and the Netherlands. Previously, residents of these countries could stay in the Philippines without a visa for up to 30 days, now they can apply for an e-visa online, allowing them to stay in the country for up to 59 days. This decision was an important step in the development of tourism and business ties with Europe.
The Philippine electronic visa system, launched in 2023 for Indian citizens in a pilot mode, gradually expanded to other countries. In 2025, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Kenya, and Nigeria joined, and by mid-year, the program included key Asian partners: Japan, South Korea, and Singapore. Now, European countries have been added to the list, opening up new opportunities for travelers and business visits.
As of today, citizens and residents of the following countries can apply for an electronic visa to the Philippines:
- Austria
- France (+ Monaco)
- Greece (+ Cyprus and North Macedonia)
- India
- Indonesia
- Japan
- Kenya
- Netherlands
- Nigeria
- Singapore
- South Korea
- United Arab Emirates
